Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see you?

No, you don’t need a referral. You can book an appointment directly. However, if you have private health insurance or you're on an ACC funded program such as Return to Work, Stay At Work, Concussion or Training For Independence program, check if a referral is required for reimbursement.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

To get the most out of your first session, bring:

  • Clothing that allows easy access to the area we’ll be treating. For example, wear shorts or  trousers that are easy to roll up if you have a knee issue or a loose-fitting top for a shoulder problem.
  • Any ACC or insurance details if your treatment is covered.
  • Referral letters, imaging reports (X-rays, MRIs), or any relevant medical documents from your doctor or specialist.
  • A list of any medications you’re currently taking (if applicable).

If you’re unsure about anything, just bring what you have, and we’ll take it from there!

Do you offer telehealth consultations?

Yes! If you can’t make it to the clinic, I offer virtual physiotherapy sessions to assess, guide, and support your recovery from home.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on your condition. Some people feel better after just one or two sessions, while others may need a structured plan over several weeks. After your first assessment, I’ll give you a clear idea of what to expect.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

No problem—just give me at least 24 hours' notice, and we’ll find a new time. Late cancellations may incur a fee.

Do you accept ACC claims?

Yes! If your injury is covered by ACC, I can help guide you through the process and manage your claim.

What conditions do you treat?

I specialise in helping people recover from sports injuries, recurrent pain, post-surgical rehab, and movement issues related to everyday life. Common conditions I treat include:

  • Lower back pain
  • Rotator cuff injuries
  • ACL rehabilitation
  • Achilles tendon pain
  • Post-surgery recovery

Can I use my private health insurance?

Yes, most health insurers cover physiotherapy. Check with your provider to confirm your coverage.
